A little Sympathy

Alex Rodriguez for those who don't know about him; is a baseball player for the New York Yankees. Not only is he a player, but in fact he is star and has been a star ever since he came into the majors. He is one of the highest payed athletes in the world and he deserves every penny of it. Many might oppose to this statement but Alex does his job and he does it very well. The only problem is that he doesn't finish his job. Or at least he hasn't been able to finish it yet. This is the reason that Yankees fans love him and hate him.

Rodriguez can go a whole season and put up fantastic numbers. These numbers can consist of 40 home runs and 120-130 runs batted in. These are obviously MVP numbers and he actually won the MVP nearly two years ago. The only problem with these phenomenal numbers are that he puts them up in the regular season. When it comes down to crunch time he tends tend to fold like a chair (or whatever else folds) and the fans begin to hate. As soon as he makes one mistake in the post-season, A-Rod doesn't hear the end of it.

My solution to this problem that A-Rod has is to back him up when things are going that well. Say that he does strike out or make an error. It's better if you cheer him on so that maybe next time he can do better. I mean honestly! If someone, or in this case almost the entire world, gives you grief for making a mistake you're probably not going to be able to function the right way. All that I'm saying is that maybe if we back A-Rod up a little in the playoffs then maybe he can put up those great numbers like his partner in crime that plays right next to him in the infield: Derek Jeter.
